The surroundings

The farm is located in the countryside of the Crete Senesi, between the municipalities of Murlo and Buonconvento.

Among the activities available in the area are the Etruscan Museum of Murlo, the Antiquarium of Poggio Civitate, and the Museum of Sienese Sharecropping in Buonconvento.

Both villages offer restaurants, grocery shops, and various shopping opportunities and activities.

Cycling

The area is highly appreciated by cyclists, not only for the natural beauty of the landscape, but also because it hosts numerous cycling routes and races, including L’Eroica and Strade Bianche.

Wine

About a 20-minute drive to the south lies the medieval town of Montalcino, home of Brunello di Montalcino, one of the most renowned wines in the world.

Many wineries in the Brunello area offer cellar tours and tastings.

To the south-east of Montalcino lies the Val d’Orcia, also famous for the wines produced throughout the valley.

To the north, just beyond Siena, stretches the vast Chianti region, extending from Siena to Florence and from Pisa to Arezzo.

Throughout the region, wineries and producers offer tastings and guided visits, from the modern architecture of the famous Antinori winery in Chianti Classico to the warm hospitality of the many family-run wine estates.

Particularly noteworthy are the villages of Gaiole in Chianti and Castellina in Chianti.

Truffles

Over the past ten years, the village of San Giovanni d’Asso has become an important destination for food tourism.

In addition to wine, San Giovanni is home to the Associazione Tartufai Senesi, which promotes the protection, harvesting, production and enhancement of truffles, especially the prized white truffle typical of the Crete Senesi area.

Thermal baths

There are many easily reachable places in the area where you can relax in thermal waters.

The municipality of Rapolano, to the east, is home to two thermal spa centres.

To the south, near San Quirico d’Orcia, lies Bagno Vignoni.

The village of Bagni di San Filippo, near Monte Amiata, offers additional springs and thermal facilities.

To the west, in the direction of Grosseto, the thermal baths of Petriolo, famous for the quality of their waters, offer a series of freely accessible natural pools, ideal for those who want to immerse themselves in a more natural setting.
